About The Review Desk
Last updated 22 October 2026
The Review Desk publishes plain-English reviews of health and wellness products that are sold online to Australians. Our goal is simple: help you understand what is inside a product, what it really costs and what the fine print says, before you spend your money.
Who writes our reviews
Emma Hartley is our health and wellness writer. She focuses on ingredient lists, published research summaries, pricing, shipping and refund policies. Emma is not a doctor, dietitian, nutritionist or pharmacist, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
How we review products
- We read the official sales page, checkout page and the seller's shipping, refund and terms pages.
- We list every ingredient the brand discloses and summarise what general published research suggests about it, including where evidence is weak.
- We search the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) and major Australian retailers to see where a product is sold.
- We record prices on the date of review and calculate the cost per serve.
- We point out marketing claims we could not verify, and we always include cons.
What we don't do
We do not run clinical tests. Unless a review says otherwise, we have not bought and personally tested the product. We do not publish invented customer reviews, star ratings from customers or fake endorsements.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide our ratings. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Independence
This is an independent review website. It is not the official website of any product or brand we review. To contact us, visit our contact page.
